India and Pakistan
Divided
in two parts - The conflict between
Indian and Pakistan, which began during partition
of the country by the British and escalated
over issues of Kashmir, threatens to become
a global crisis. Today both India and Pakistan
possess nuclear capabilities and the means of
destroying each other's country within minutes.
At the same time, religious violent continues
to be factor in many parts of both countries
as extremists and terrorists infiltrate and
seek violence.
This threat is real, however the
peace history of the region has also been great
with leaders such as Mahatma
Gandhi and Abdul
Ghaffar (Badshah) Khan in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
