Legislative Events
Texans for Peace, working with hundreds of local, regional and national group, will help organize and participate in a variety of events during February and March to see congressional changes to the war. We have made our line in the sand and will continue to "escalate" the peace as needed. Here are some events coming up:

Austin - Central Texas

Feb 20 -- FEDERAL PLAZA, 8 - 9 AM
A genuine welcome home gathering for our congresspeople. Bring flowers and
"Welcome Home" signs. Let's welcome those we've elected back home to their
districts and invite them to meet with us to discuss ending the war in Iraq.
Also call your congressperson's Austin office and ask them to sign a public
pledge that they will vote against George Bush's supplemental appropriation
for the war. Invite them to come meet with their constituents on Wednesday at
lunchtime.

Feb 21 -- FEDERAL PLAZA, 12 Noon
Bring your lunch to Federal Plaza for a Peace Picnic! Bring signs and banners
asking our congresspeople to stop the Iraq war the same way we stopped the
Vietnam war -- by cutting the funding.

Feb 22 -- FEDERAL PLAZA, 4:30 until late
Town hall meeting and vigil. If our congresspeople still haven't signed the
pledge to vote against Bush's appropriation request, come to a Town Hall
meeting and candlelight vigil to discuss next steps.
