ALSO 2:30 - 3:00 pm, check out the "First
Aid" table. Since both warfare and lack of
healthcare leave people wounded, we would like
to present a visual reminder of this at the rally.
Consider coming with a sling, crutches, eyepatch
or bandages, if you have access to them. For those
who do not, we will have a FIRST AID STATION set
up where you can
be "bandaged" when you arrive.
Texans will rally on the 8th anniversary
of the invasion and occupations of Afghanistan/Iraq
to challenge the government to end those wars
and focus on national priorities such as healthcare
and the economy. The "Healthcare Not Warfare"
Rally on Saturday October 17 will be held at Austin
City Hall from 3-6 pm. The rally will include
speakers, musicians,Iraq veterans, health care
professionals, religious leaders, peace activists
and families affected by lack of healthcare and
the impacts of war.
